On the 19th of May 2023, CANU Officers conducted an operation at the Coconut Estate, Unity, East Coast Demerara. Upon approaching the estate, Officers noticed two individuals fleeing the scene. A subsequent search of a boat shed and a speed boat at the estate revealed a small cannabis plant, and a quantity of suspected narcotics.

The narcotics, along with a cannabis plant, were transported to CANU Headquarters. The suspected narcotics, tested positive for cannabis and cocaine. The cannabis amounting to approximately 430 grammes and the cocaine amounting to 164 grammes.

Investigations are ongoing.
