On the 23rd December, 2023, CANU Officers conducted an operation in the vicinity of James and Hill Streets, Albouystown. During the operation, Officers observed a male carrying a bag. Upon noticing the CANU Officers, the individual quickly fled into an empty lot in the vicinity of James and Hill streets, where he abandoned the said bag and made good his escape.
A thorough search of the empty lot led to the discovery of the said bag, which contained four (4) parcels of suspected cannabis.
The narcotic was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters, where it tested positive for cannabis with a total weight of 10.8 kg (approximately 24.5 lbs.) with a local street value of approximately GUY $3.3 M.
Investigations are ongoing.
