CANU & GRA Seize Over 1.5kg of Foreign Cannabis; Two East Coast Residents Arrested
On Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, Customs Officers of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) and CANU officers, acting on information received, searched one (1) incoming barrel from the United States of America (USA). This led to the discovery of several transparent parcels containing a quantity of foreign cannabis. Machaia Andrews of Lot 274 Section “B” Non Pariel East Coast Demerara, and Lemme Campbell of 229 Section “C” Enterprise, East Coast Demerara, were arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the quantity of cannabis, which weighed 1.502 kilograms. Investigations are ongoing.
