On Wednesday, 9th July 2025, CANU Officers, acting on information received,
conducted an operation in the vicinity of Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara, where they
intercepted two (2) motor cars, which led to the discovery of several parcels containing a
whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
• Five (5) persons were arrested and escorted to CANU headquarters along with the
suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cocaine and weighed 16.784 kilograms.
• Investigations are ongoing.
