CANU Seizes a Quantity of Cannabis at #74 Koker, Corentyne Berbice On Friday, 3 rd October 2025, CANU Officers, acting on information received, conducted an intelligence led operation at #74 Koker, Corentyne Berbice. A subsequent search of thesurrounding area led to the discovery of seven (7) large black plastic bags which contained leaves, seed and stems suspected to be cannabis. The quantity of suspected cannabis were subsequently escorted to CANU’s Skeldon Headquarters, which was weighed in the presence of CANU’s officers and amounted to 111.8 kilograms. Investigations are ongoing.

CANU Seizes a Quanity of Cocaine On Thursday, 25th September 2025, CANU Officers, acting on information received, conducted an intelligence led operation at a location in Charity, Essequibo Coast. A subsequent search of the location led to the discovery of 13 brick-like parcels suspected to be cocaine. One person was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the suspected cocaine. At CANU HQ, the suspected cocaine was weighed in the presence of the suspect and CANU officers, which amounted to 14.836 kilograms.Investigations are ongoing.

A subsequent search of the residence led to the discovery of a quantity of cocaine.• Clarence Jones and Carlos Garraway were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the quantity of cocaine, which weighed 1.172 kilograms. • Investigations are ongoing.

Trial Update: Colin Moore Please be informed that on Monday, 15 September 2025, Colin Moore appeared before Magistrate Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of 16.784 kgs of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He was sentenced to four (4) years imprisonment andfined GYD$25,170,000.

Trial Update: Joel Leander, Satrohan Hardowar, and Lorna Scott-Williams Please be informed that on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, Joel Leander, SatrohanHardowar, and Lorna Scott-Williams appeared before Magistrate George at the LeonoraMagistrate’s Court in relation to the offence of possession of 5.442 kilograms of cocaine for thepurpose of trafficking. Lorna Scott-Williams and Satrohan Hardowar both pleaded not guilty andwere remanded to prison pending trial. However, Joel Leander pleaded guilty and was sentencedto five (5) years’ imprisonment along with a fine of GYD $8,163,000. In relation to a separate charge involving the possession of 3.592 kilograms of cocaine forthe purpose of trafficking, Lorna Scott-Williams also appeared before Magistrate George at theLeonora Magistrate’s Court, where she pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to prisonpending trial. Lorna Williams has a prior history of narcotics offences. In October 2015, she, her husband,and three (3) others were charged with trafficking 3.840 kilograms of cocaine and 36.5 grams ofcannabis, during which large sums of local and foreign currency were seized. In July 2017, she andher husband, Gordon “Monkey Harry” Williams, were convicted. He was sentenced to seven (7)years in prison and fined $30,000, while she received a three (3) year prison sentence and a similarfine for trafficking narcotics.

CANU Seizes a Firearm, ammunition, and a Quantity of Cocaine On Monday, 11th August 2025, CANU Officers, acting on information received, conducted an operation along Parika Public Road, East Bank Essequibo, where they intercepted a motor car and discovered several parcels containing a whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. A subsequent follow-up operation at the suspect’s residence uncovered one (1) 5.32 Taurus pistol with a magazine containing fourteen (14) .22 rounds, along with several black bags containing an additional quantity of suspected cocaine. Four (4) suspects were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cocaine and weighed a total of 9.034 kilograms. Investigations are ongoing.

Trial Update: Kenner Arjun, Antonio Bobb, and Pooran Seemangal Please be informed that on Thursday 10 July, 2025 Kenner Arjun, Antonio Bobb, and Pooran Seemangal appeared before Magistrate George at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, where they all pleaded not guilty to the offence of possession of 21.714 kgs of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Kenner Arjun pleaded not guilty to the offence of possession of 3.128 kgs of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Bail was refused for all, and they were all remanded to prison until 20th August 2025.
