On Saturday, 17th May 2025, CANU Officers, acting on information received,
conducted an operation on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, where they intercepted a
motor car. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed several parcels containing a
quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis. 

 • The suspects were arrested and escorted to CANU headquarters along with the
suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cannabis and weighed 9.426 kilograms. 

 • Investigations are ongoing.
