On Wednesday 14th January 2026, CANU Officers, acting on information received, conducted an operation in the vicinity of La Grange Public Road, West Bank Demerara, where they intercepted a motor vehicle. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle revealed twenty (20) brick-like parcels containing a quantity of cocaine. 

Two (2) suspects were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the narcotics, which weighed 22.394 kilograms. 

Investigations are ongoing.
