On Monday, 16th June 2025, CANU officers, acting on information received, conducted
an operation in Tabatinga, Lethem, Central Rupununi, where they intercepted a suspect on
an electric bike, but the suspect subsequently escaped. A subsequent search of the electric
bike led to the discovery of a quantity of cannabis, which weighed 3.8 kilograms.
Investigations are ongoing.
