On Thursday, November 27th 2025, CANU officers, acting on received information,
conducted an operation near Sandaka Dam, Corentyne, Berbice, where they intercepted a
suspect on a motorcycle. A subsequent search of the suspect revealed a parcel containing a
quantity of cocaine. A follow-up search in the area surrounding the suspect revealed two (2)
bulky parcels containing a quantity of cannabis. 

The suspect was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the
suspected narcotic, which weighed 12.1 grams (cocaine) and 30 kilograms (cannabis). 

Investigations are ongoing.
