On Wednesday, 14th May 2025, CANU Officers, acting on information received, conducted an operation in the vicinity of Rubis Gas Station on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, where they intercepted a motor car. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed four (4) parcels containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.

Gavin Dowden was arrested and escorted to CANU headquarters along with the suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cannabis and weighed 1.042 kilograms.

Investigations are ongoing.
