Friday, January 20, 2023, Marlena Emptage was sentenced to four years in prison and fined $53.1 million for cannabis possession by Magistrate Leron Daly after admitting to having 59 kgs of cannabis in her possession for the purpose of trafficking.

CANU officers conducted an operation on Norton Street and Louisa Row Wortmanville, Georgetown, on January 18, 2023, and discovered 59 kgs of cannabis hidden in barrels and shopping bags.
