On 25th Aug, 2023, Richey Sewadhan, appeared before Magistrate Azore, at the Cove and John Magistrate’s court, where he faced charges related to the possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking.
Sewadhan was found guilty and sentenced to thirteen (13) weeks imprisonment with a fine of approximately GY $5 M.
Sewadhan was arrested on 29th July 2021, in Paradise village, East Coast Demerara, when CANU Officers intercepted a vehicle, he was travelling in and discovered approximately 12.8 kg (28 lbs.) of cannabis in his possession.
