On the 16th March 2023, CANU Officers conducted an operation in the vicinity of Lombard Street, Charlestown, Georgetown where they intercepted a male carrying a backpack. A subsequent search of the said backpack led to the discovery of a parcel containing suspected cannabis

Akeem Archer, 27 years, of the Zeelugt Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cannabis and weighed approximately 5 lbs. (2.33 kg) with a street value of approximately GUY $400,000.

Investigations are ongoing.
